NAESM & TRAXX Atlanta and its partners celebrate their anniversary at Piedmont Park Pool during Atlanta Black Pride
Atlanta, Georgia - 2010 marks the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the National AIDS Education & Services for Minorities [NAESM].
“We at NAESM will be celebrating our 20th year anniversary in 2010 of providing HIV/AIDS prevention and education services. We would be honored if you would join us in celebrating 20 years of providing services, prevention, training and mentoring to our community” stated Mr. Rudolph H. Carn, Founder & CEO of NAESM
NAESM, [www.naesm.org] was created in an effort to counteract through education and preventative services the ever increasing spread of HIV/AIDS in under served communities. Since the opening of it doors in 1990, NAESM has taken great pride in serving Atlanta and National communities. As a 501(c) (3) non-profit national community based organization, NAESM is a beacon of hope for those in need of love and understanding. NAESM mission is to educate communities on the facts about HIV/AIDS (Education/Prevention) and to make health care and social services available to all with early or advanced stages of HIV/AIDS regardless of their sexual orientation. HIV/AIDS does not discriminate, and anyone can become infected with the virus.
NAESM is excited to partner with Traxx Atlanta for this year’s version of Atlanta Black Gay Pride to be held from September 2-6, 2010 in Atlanta, Georgia at Lowe’s Hotel. Throughout the five days the host hotel will lend itself to numerous activities and informative health related screenings and seminars along with a host of wholesome activities to celebrate the diversity of the African American Gay and Lesbian community.
On Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 4-11pmNAESM along with Traxx Atlanta and sponsors Aquafina, Pepsi, Brothers, HIV Vaccine Trials Network, Wassupnatl, Georgia Department of Community Health, The GA Voice. POZ and David Magazine will stage its biggest Education/Prevention intervention program in the form of a Pool Party at the Greystone and Aquatic Center at the famed Piedmont Park. This will give not only our organization but that of prospective sponsors the opportunity to reach out and educate on HIV/AIDS, preventative measures, seminars and testing in one venue from 4-11pm.
The insatiably talented former contestant on American Idol-- FRENCHIE will headline the festivities along with Niesha Dupree. FlavaMen Models Miami will host a $1,000 Hot Body Contest and a FlavaMen cover model photo shoot. The evening festivities will close out with the cutting of the NAESM (20th) and Traxx (25th) anniversary cake to mark the occasion.
