Fire & Ink, Inc. is pleased to partner with In the Life Atlanta, Inc. to bring its Fire & Ink Presents! series to this year’s 12th annual Atlanta Black Pride Celebration, 10 am to 12 noon Saturday, August 30th at Altitude, located inside the W-Atlanta Midtown Hotel, 188 14th Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30309.

Join us for soul-stirring performances by six black gay and lesbian authors reading selections from their latest work. Authors include: Laurinda Brown (Highest Price for Passion); Michael-Christopher (Unspeakable); G. Winston James (The Damaged Good; Voices Rising); E. Patrick Johnson (Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the South—An Oral History); and, Atlanta’s own Fiona Zedde (Hungry for It).

Art and culture, our stories and our fantasies, are a crucial part of the black gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender experience. Fire & Ink is excited to continue its mission to increase the understanding, visibility and awareness of the works of GLBT writers of African descent and heritage, and to collaborate with ITLA in furthering its mission to promote unity, pride, self-empowerment and positive visibility within Atlanta’s GLBT communities of African descent.

Fire & Ink Presents! is partially sponsored by a grant from the Astraea Lesbian Foundation for Justice. The authors’ books will be available for sale after the reading, and at the Charis Books & More vendor both at the Black Pride Marketplace also inside the W-Atlanta Midtown Hotel all Labor Day weekend.
